Pam Torr - Manager of Barton Lodge

Pam trained at The London Hospital (now the Royal London Hospital) in Whitechapel qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1965. After an appointment on the staff she left to join her husband in Malaya and travelled with his army career. She had two sons born just 15 months apart so life was rather hectic.

Then in 1974, she became a Practice Nurse for a Hampshire General Practice. Whilst undertaking further study Pam commenced her work with the elderly in1983 and progressing through several positions that culminated in a Specialist teaching role. After being in charge of a Community Hospital, she entered the world of Care Homes. She has managed Care Homes in Kent and in Dorset where she now lives. Pam will soon be completing a degree in Care Home Management at Bournemouth University.

Pam’s sons live in Oxford and Abingdon and have both taken positions in the computer industry, one as an engineer and the other as a buyer. Due to the demands of the course of study Pam has little spare time but enjoys being involved in her Church activities.
