Accommodation

There is a wide variety of accommodation available, from single rooms to double rooms for couples, or residents who prefer company. Residents can enjoy wonderful views over the large, beautifully kept gardens. All rooms have care-call alarms and thermostatically controlled radiators to cater for individual needs.

Furnishings

The rooms are attractively furnished, with TV power points in every room and residents are very welcome to bring their own furniture, pictures and personal belongings, to make their room as homely and comfortable as possible.

Laundry, Hairdresser, Chiropody & Physiotherapy

We provide a free laundry service to all residents. Dry cleaning, weekly visits from the hairdresser, chiropodist, physiotherapist and any other therapeutic service residents require, are all available on a regular basis, at an additional charge.

Doctor, Dentist & Optician

All residents are registered with a local GP. The home provides 24-hour care so that a caring member of staff is always available if needed. Dental and optical services are also available on request. An optician visits Woodley Grange once every six months and further appointments can be arranged as needed.

Cuisine

We place great emphasis on creating appetising, home-cooked and nutritious meals. We encourage residents to suggest culinary delights, which our cooks will try to cater for if advance notice is given. Special dietary needs are also catered for. There is a lovely dining room overlooking the courtyard and friends and relatives are always welcome to join residents for a meal. Hot or cold drinks and snacks are available at any time. We believe that residents should have the freedom to eat or drink something when they wish to do so.

Lifts & Specialist Equipment

A passenger lift, stair lift and specialist lifting equipment all help to improve the comfort and lifestyle of our residents. We endeavour to provide any requests for equipment required for special needs and for all our residents' comfort.

Library & Newspapers

Newspapers are delivered daily on request and we have an in house library. A mobile library service is also available to residents on request, where books are available on tape and in large print.

Pastoral Care

The local Church of England, Methodist ministers and Roman Catholic priest, regularly visit Woodley Grange.

Social and Recreational Facilities

We have an on going programme of individual or group entertainment activities both inside and outside the home. A variety of singers and musicians entertain the residents approximately every three weeks, with music and songs that all can enjoy. Games, quizzes and outings are all thoughtfully arranged and residents are encouraged to continue with any hobbies that they enjoy.

Relatives are able to visit their loved ones as often as they like and are more than welcome to take them out for a visit. Parties are held with friends and families at birthdays and at Christmas time, which the residents look forward to and enjoy.

Residents are encouraged to put forward suggestions for outings and entertainment so the home can organise events that are both enjoyable and memorable. Residents are also encouraged to attend clubs and social groups in the community.

With two large lounges, a spacious dining room and attractive lawns, residents can choose between group activities, socialising or just quietly relaxing. With front and back lawns, residents can also enjoy walks and make full use of the extensive grounds.
