Manager – Amanda Cooper
Amanda has been with us since March 2012. She is enthusiastic and approachable with an infectious smile and a sunny disposition! She sets a fantastic example to everyone at the home with her hands on approach and helps make Woodley Grange the best home in the Test Valley region.
Amanda holds qualifications in Health and Social Care and has completed her Master’s Degree equivalent, QCF Level 7 accreditation. She is also a qualified trainer for safeguarding and a trainer in dementia. She continues to maintain her qualifications and knowledge through attendance at training courses and seminars throughout the year.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys swimming, aqua-size and cycling. She also has a cat called Smudge – which she is allergic to!
Head of Care – Sue Whitcombe
Sue has worked at Woodley Grange for over 30 years. Sue is a dedicated and experienced Head of Care and holds an NVQ 4 in Health & Social Care. Her main role as Head of Care is to audit and monitor the care at Woodley Grange to ensure that it remains at an exceptional standard.
Sue has four grown up children and is an animal lover. Sue is also an ardent football supporter and a season ticket holder at Southampton football club.
In her spare time, Sue enjoys spending time with her children, grandchildren and animals and of course the football.
Head of Care – Angela Harding
Angela joined Woodley Grange in 2016 as our Head of Care and brings over 10 years of care industry expertise to Woodley. Following 25 years working in Optics, Angela took the decision to change her career after caring for her father who had a terminal illness; she is truly passionate about making a difference.
Angela has a vast and varied background working in care homes. She started off her career as an Activities Coordinator, she then worked her way up to Deputy Manager and she has now reached her goal of becoming Head of Care. She strives to always do her best and ensures the highest standard of care for our residents. Angela is a team player, very approachable and easygoing and always has a smile on her face!
Angela has completed her QCF 5 accreditation and has completed her 6 steps with Countess Mountbatten House in end of life care. Angela is also an assessor for the care certificate and is continuously developing her knowledge and training.
In her spare time, she loves to read and spend time with her adorable grandchildren and daughters. Angela’s latest pastime is researching her family tree!
Chef – Amanda Aldridge
Amanda, affectionately known as Mandy, is our Head Chef at Woodley Grange. She holds various qualifications in Nutrition and Health, Food Safety and Catering, as well as qualifications in social care.
Mandy had worked at a local Primary school for 15 years, working her way up from a catering assistant to Head Cook, catering for 150-200 children a day. In need of a fresh challenge Mandy joined Woodley Grange in August 2011 and has been wowing our residents with her culinary delights ever since.
Mandy loves baking but not as much as the residents enjoy eating her delicious homemade cakes and biscuits!
Mandy has a grown-up family, and has lived in Romsey for the last 28 years. She enjoys relaxing walks and going out for a nice meal, but most of all she enjoys spending time with her family.
Chef – Jenny Howard
Jenny first came to Woodley Grange as a care assistant but quickly realised that her real passion was for cooking. Jenny is always smiling and is full of ideas and enthusiasm when it comes to creating menus.
Jenny previously worked in a school for children with severe learning difficulties.
She has 4 children and 8 grandchildren. In her spare time, she spends time with her family and also loves to potter around the garden and cook.
Activities Coordinator – Nadine Lloyd
Nadine joined Woodley Grange in the summer of 2017 as a valued member of the care team, moving over to the activities team in 2018. She has a passion for working with the elderly. What makes her tick is finding that one special thing that will make a difference in people’s lives. She is married with 2 older children.
She enjoys arts and crafts, singing and dancing, cooking, spending time with her family and friends and going for long walks. One of her particular passions is taking part in world war two re-enactments!
Prior to working within the care sector, she was a self-employed hairdresser.
Activities Coordinator – Erica Orchard
Erica joined Woodley Grange at the beginning of 2018 as a valued member of the activities team. Erica has a degree in music, and five years of experience as an activities co-ordinator. She has a passion for working with the elderly, especially with those with dementia. What really makes her tick is finding that one special thing that will make a difference in people’s lives. Erica loves to sing classical music and jazz for us, and will often lead an impromptu singalong on the keyboard.
Erica has four grown-up children, and a gorgeous granddaughter in Glasgow. She recently moved into the New Forest area after a whirlwind romance and marriage!
In her spare time Erica goes to church, paints, and writes: she has published two children’s books, and is working on another.
